chores made fun

My cute assistant Kate takes notes while I explain our chores for the day: We need to empty out the "daily toy buckets" and re-organize them. With the help of her friends we are sucessfull!
I love these buckets: the idea is simple and it's one of my favorite mom tips.
{Get a bucket/box/ basket for everyday of the week. Inside each container put variety of toys (a book, a stuffed animal, a learning toy, a teething toy, blocks, balls, etc..) Each day bring out the day specific bucket. Now here's the awesomeness! First things first: Organization! Toys aren't flying around everywhere and at the end of the day you only have one bucket to pick up from. Now, the educational bonus! Studies have shown that kids are more simulated and more engaged in toys that seem 'new' to them. Interest in toys last longer because they don't get bored with the same toys everyday. It's fun to watch how excited they'll get over seeing a familiar toy they forgot they had, when really it's only been a week since they playing with it! They'll also spend more time engaging in the toys because they aren't overwhelmed with a huge assortment of toys. Every few weeks we empty out Kate's buckets and mix up her toys. It's a good deal all around. Kate's always anxious to help open the daily bucket! It's like Christmas morning all over again! }
When the chores of the day were complete...what better reward than a Choo- Choo ride from Daddy!
Thanks Katers! You are a super good helper! :)
